Empower Abilities 2024
The Empower Abilities phase, a four-month residential incubation program, will provide hands-on training and support to help beneficiaries develop their ideas into viable businesses. This phase will include activities such as business plan development, prototyping, financial management, mentorship, networking, and access to incubation facilities and resources.
The Empower Abilities program will consist of three primary components:
Basic Skills (1.5 months): Participants will receive foundational training in computer skills, spoken English, soft and communication skills, documentation, leadership, and life skills.
Vocational/Upskilling Programs (1 month): Tailored training will be provided based on participant interests, such as beautician skills, tailoring, or electrical work.
Entrepreneurial Skills (1.5 months): Participants will learn about crafting business ideas, understanding customers, business planning, financial literacy, and social media.
Throughout the program, we will emphasize practical learning experiences to enhance participants’ confidence and understanding of the business world. Vocational training will involve hands-on experience at identified business locations, with necessary materials provided for demonstration and training purposes.
Entrepreneurship skilling will cover topics from ideation to pitching, focusing on financial, administrative, legal, marketing, and promotional aspects. Participants will create their own business plans and model canvases to gain a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape.
Our team of facilitators will consist of industry experts from diverse backgrounds, including government and private sectors. They will employ various teaching methodologies, combining theoretical learning with practical activities like brainstorming, group discussions, assignments, presentations, and case studies. This blended approach will help participants develop confidence and address their doubts and fears related to business.
We have attached our detailed curriculum and action plan documents with those involved in this program.
