Inspiring Innovation Through Resilience and Determination
Background
In ancient civilizations, disability was a curse. During the Middle Ages, disabled people were considered burdens. During the 19th century, disabled People are treated as Un productive. They are very productive. But They are not recognized, they are not respected, they are not participating, and they are denied participation. In the 20th century, disabled people started fighting for equal rights and access. They got some acts and laws, but implementation was very poor. Their development was still ongoing. Most people suffering from sustainability how can they continue their fight? In this situation, we thought if we made them financially independent, they could lead their life. But how? Coming to entrepreneurship, the trust in entrepreneurs with a disability is very limited. Often, they don’t get financial support or bank loans. A lack of belief leads to a lack of confidence. And when one problem leads to the next problem, we have even bigger problems to solve. So, how can we bring the change?
Problem Statement
In India, a deficiency in skills, lack of up skilling opportunities, and limited financial support due to low-quality education, along with the social stigma experienced by individuals with mobility impairments, resulting in their exclusion from employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. This situation often forces them to be financially dependent on their families.
Our Solution
What makes us different? We understand persons with disabilities situations. Our founders also live with a walking disability and therefore, we can come up with the most suitable adaptations. We strongly believe “Disability is the mother of innovation.” This quote by Sabriye Tenberken is our driving force.
Welcome to the “Different Entrepreneurs Hub or de-HUB” located in Hyderabad city. We envision a place where every person with disability eagerly awaits a visit—a place where there is no stigma, no sympathy, and no problems related to mobility and accessibility. We aim to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the nation through a network of incubation hubs for Persons with Disability, contributing to economic growth. We will empower PWDs to become entrepreneurs by providing comprehensive support, resources, and opportunities that will help them succeed in creating and growing impactful businesses.
